Breeding Pair Shipped ~ Glider Nursery
Reviewed on: Jun 13 2014 5:11AM
We purchased a breeding pair or platinum gliders from Glider Nursery. It was an amazing experience from the 1st phone call. Shelly gave us all the information needed and more, stayed in contact with us, and continues to be involved. This beautiful pair Gia and Mateo have started bonding immediately. They are sweet as can be even with the flight from Ohio to Chicago to Florida. These two had some travel time. We could not be happier with these beautiful babies. THANK YOU!!!

Happy new glider mommy

Ok so I got my very 1st glider from pocket pets, seeing as how this is not a pocket pets review I will not go into detail but you can see my Pocket pet review on this page under pocket pets. Any way I got my 1st glider from them and unfortunately it died within 6 days I am sad to say a terrible little death it was horrible, I called the company and they replaced her for me. When we got her home we found that she was very very scared and even though we were told they would be perfectly fine as solitary animals I could tell she was lonely. This glider was so petrified you couldn’t touch her without her getting very very upset, and to be honest it was a little unnerving to me and my family as well because we were new glider owners as will. I didn’t want to get another petrified glider as my 1st attempt and sugar gliders so I decided to do some research and this is where I found Shelly (owner of glider nursery) and I am soooo glad I did. I contacted Shelly and told her my situation and asked for some advice, and even before telling her I was interested in possibly purchasing more gliders to help the one I had, she freely began talking with me and giving me advice over the phone, it was wonderful. Then when I told her I was looking to get more to try to help mine not be so scared she gave me a couple options that we discussed until we came to what we felt best option would be. At first I was a little concerned when she told me about the pair of 3year old gliders she had and was selling (someone who had bought from her could no longer care for them) because I was told at pocket pets that you should NEVER get older than 8-9weeks oop or they would not bond. Well I’m so glad we went to look at this pair, shelly invited us into her home showed us her beautiful glider room, her gliders and made us feel welcome. She gave us tons of advice while we were there she was very knowledgeable and we didn’t feel pressured that we had to buy anything. When we decided that we could not leave without these little sweet gliders she even helped us to introduce our glider to the ones we were purchasing, and it went splendidly! It was so nice that she was also considerate of that fact that we had already spent A LOT of money at pocket pets and gave us a good deal on the gliders (grated they were still expensive but NOT over priced in my opinion, gliders are expensive animals especially when starting out and need the right cage, food, toys etc. so be sure to do some research and have a minimum or $800-$900 to get started just a suggestion, esp. if you want to start out right) and sent us home with a huge more suitable cage as well as a Walmart bag filled with toys she personally had made. Day 2 of having the gliders home the little girl we had purchased from shelly was coming out of cage to walk on my arm for short periods of time, and my original glider from pocket pets was eating from my had. Day 4 I am able to pet all the gliders, the little girl we got from shelly crawls on me and the boy though a little timid still is a sweet heart, and as for mien she actually came up to me and crawled up my arm! I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with shelly and I would highly recommend her to anyone! (Side note we got a Leucistic male, and Platinum female from shelly)

Although glider nursery is the first breeder I have ever dealt with I have a hard time believing I could have done better. since i have been dealing with shelly at glider nursery she has done nothing but educate me about all aspect of owning sugar gliders. I visited her nursery and saw first hand her gliders are her pets first and business second. i was fotunate enough to reserve my fist pair of gliders through shelly and am very pleased to be doing bussiness with such a helpful , professional and loving breeder.

Our twins :)

When we first went to Shelly, we were in slight panic mode as one of our girls had just passed away and we were hoping she might have a glider available soonish. She didnt but had a set of twins just out of pouch. She was wonderful from the first phone call to the day we picked the kids up, even allowing us to hold off on a deposit until we met with her and the gliders themselves. She had no issues at all with showing us around her glider room (amazing btw), letting us handle and pet just about everyone, and answering every question we could come up with, even offering assistance should we ever decide to breed our little female so we could find the best match possible. We are very impressed and thrilled by our new additions- we were able to handle them day one!- highest compliments to Shelly, we will be back!
